Perform routine manual tasks requiring medium to heavy physical effort involving exposure to kinds of weather conditions. Operate plows during winter operations. Roadside maintenance, drainage maintenance, traffic control, etc. Support the department's response to regional and statewide emergency situations within the Incident Command System. Must complete the Highway Maintenance Worker Traineeship 2 or have 1 year of experience in the operation of highway construction, maintenance equipment, or other vehicles in excess of 26,000 Gross Vehicle Weight Rating with air brakes. Must have Class A or B Commercial Driver License with DOT-specified endorsements, and two NYSDOT equipment operation certifications, in addition to heavy dump truck, one person plowing with single or double wing, and front-end loader certifications.
